We want to take a moment to recognize our manager, Venelina Miteva, who became a United States Citizen this week! Venelina came to the Outer Banks in 2012 from her home country, Bulgaria, as a J-1 International Student. She started working at Blue Moon in 2019 after working many other jobs - everything from construction to restaurant positions. Her work ethic is admirable!
Although she misses the beauty and her family in Bulgaria, she is excited about her future in America. For Venelina, becoming a U.S. Citizen affords her the right to stand-up for her beliefs and provides her with opportunities she would not have otherwise. She hopes to continue her education and work towards a degree in Business Administration. She already holds Undergraduate and Masters degrees from Bulgaria in Ethnology.
"People who are born and raised here often take for granted what a great country it is. They should appreciate all they have and be thankful to those who have sacrificed so much to give us our freedom." Well said, Venelina. We are proud of you! Go USA!
